Yigal Amir To Artificially Inseminate “Wife”

Should a prisoner, especially a prisoner in jail for a murder he admits committing, be allowed conjugal visits with his wife? If not, should he be allowed to artificially impregnate her? Israel Insider reports:

The jailed assassin of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin has been
permitted to provide sperm samples for the artificial insemination of
his wife, the Prisons Authority announced Tuesday.

The prisoner, Yigal Amir, is serving a life sentence without parole
for the 1995 killing, and married an Israeli woman, Larissa Trimbobler,
by proxy in 2004.

Why should this be allowed? Readers?

I love how some Ethiopian “wannabe Jew” murders Rabin and they put Yigal Amir, an innocent man behind bars. That’s the Israeli justice system for you.

  2. Funny. I thought it was incitement from Chabadniks like Avraham Hecht, Yitzchak Ginsburg and Solom DovBer Wolpe, combined with constant exposure to Chabad’s ‘parsha sheets’ that drove Amir over the edge.

You Chabd racisits are so provincal …

  3. From a halachik point of view it certainly should not be allowed, there is no such thing as marriage by proxy!

  4. Rabbis ruled is marriage-by-proxy kosher. I’m sure rabbis have ruled his artificial inseminatin gambit to be kosher, as well.

Why should Amir’s wife be punished for his crime? If she wants to get pregnant, shouldn’t her husbnad be the donor?

  6. The simplest answer is she married him after his conviction, knowing full well she would most likely not have conjugal visits. Further, she married him by proxy, which is itself suspect.

This is not a case of a wife abandoned by her husband’s incarceration.

And besides, he killed a Prime Minister, which is a crime against all citizens of the state, not just the victim and his family. It carries more onus than a regular murder – even though I do not believe a woman who marries a convicted murderer during his incarceration deserves conjugal visits or any other favors, and her husband certainly does not.

I think he should be allowed actual conjugal visits not simply an artificial insemenation no differnt than other prisoners.

Shmaryah another thing Arab terrorists are allowed to marry while in prison and to father children why not Yigal Amir?

  10. Which “Rabbis” have ruled that marriage by proxy is allowed? Kidushin (or Erusin) can be done al-yidei shliach but Nisuin?
