Haredim: We Failed in Lebanon Because of Gays and Lesbians

Ynet reports:

…Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch, the head of the Eda Haredit rabbinic court, said during the rally, “We did not succeed in Lebanon due to the obscenity and promiscuity in the Holy Land.”

The rabbi quoted Rabbi [Elchanan] Wasserman [whose advice killed hundreds of his students and followers], who said during the Holocaust that “Zionism has destroyed the Land of Israel’s sanctity; this is how the troubles of the Shoah began, and this is why we must act to wend the promiscuity.

“There is no greater disturbance than the disgraceful parade,” Rabbi Sternbuch said.

Despite the fact that Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski called out against holding the parade in the city, many in the haredi community hold him directly responsible.

“The municipality did not protest against the holding of the terrible abomination parade,” Rabbi Sternbuch said.

The haredim also presented other “divine signs” against the Jerusalem gay parade: The parsha for the Sabbath following the parade is Vayera from the book of Genesis, which tells of the total destruction of Sodom by G-d.

The parade falls on the day after the 16th anniversary of the murder of Rabbi Meir Kahane, and his followers, who are expected visit his grave on the Mount of Olives on the day the parade is scheduled to take place, said they would ‘take advantage of the memorial ceremony for Kahane to fight the gay parade.’ …

Meanwhile, Kahanist Baruch Marzel declared a “holy war” against the parade.

I think it’s time we declared a holy war against haredim and extremist settler types. No guns, bombs or knives. Just cut off their money and, in the case of haredim, make them serve in the army.

Are you planning to participate on the Pride march?

Are you planning to participate on the Pride march?

  3. The Beadle

Why is it assumed that if a person is against “holy” wars against homosexuals, that must mean that they are homosexuals themselves?

I am a happily married orthodox heterosexual male who finds it disgusting for people, particularly “orthodox” people, to call for violence against another group of people.

  4. Ben

What is the title/author of a recent murder mystery centered around CrownHeights?

  5. Anonymous

Shmarya I think you should serve in the army. As soon as your done marching in the parade with your boyfriend.

  6. Snag

    Beadle,

None of the quoted comments call for violence against anybody, merely that these perverts should not flaunt themselves in the holy city. Or is haredi free speech worth less than others?

I myself will not take part in the gay parade, although I might be in the forthcoming adultery parade, and have been asked to speak at the kidnappers parade.

  7. Avraham

So Jews cant pray on the Har Habayit because of fears of violence, yet a bunch of people, parading a lifestyle, MANY RELIGONS in the city find offensive is not an incitement???
Oh, and the fact that N.A.M.B.L.A. marches in these parades all the time dosent bother the the anti molestor crusader Rosenberg???
Oh and knock off attacking Rav Wasserman Ztl you fat little troll. It only exemplifies the fact that you only care to attack religous Jews because you failed to become one yourself and sit there with your computer and snickers bar attacking the whole world. If God is king of the world, its obvious he has made you his court jester, thanks for the laughs. I think its past time somebody dug deep into your past and find out the usual secrets that someone shouting as loud as you do, usually are hiding.

“the fact that you only care to attack religous Jews because you failed to become one yourself”

    quoted for truth

  9. “So Jews cant pray on the Har Habayit because of fears of violence, yet a bunch of people, parading a lifestyle, MANY RELIGONS in the city find offensive is not an incitement???”

Using that logic, normal Israelis should be able to prevent haredim from moving into their neighborhoods or holding mass gatherings.

“Oh, and the fact that N.A.M.B.L.A. marches in these parades all the time dosent bother the the anti molestor crusader Rosenberg???”

I don’t think they’re marching in Jerusalem, so this point is moot.

And, as for Rav Wasserman, he deserves it. Not name calling, etc. But his true stand on Israel and America, and how many Jews were murdered because they followed him – that is important for people to know.

“I think its past time somebody dug deep into your past and find out the usual secrets that someone shouting as loud as you do, usually are hiding.”

Wouldn’t that logic apply to you, as well? Someone as homophobic as you …

Don’t you see how silly your argumets are? Letting gays march is not endorsing – or, more importantly, advocating – homosexuality. All haredi actions ensure is further gay militancy.

  10. WHY in G-d’s name do peopel continue to pay these people any kind of attention?

I advocate a containment policy regarding wacked out Haredim like this.

  11. avrohom

    scotty,

your animalistic and piggy tendencies are back in full force. it’s time to declare a war on reshoim and fools like you who devote their lvies to bemirch judaism beccause he could not find a mate. Go march in this parade and find a rosho mate that you deserve.

The setllers you decry are not responsible for the HUNDREDS OF LIVES LOST in the war in lebanon; but your piggy ideas and piggy firends pgi idol worshippers who worship all anti jewish ideas, love animals and hate observant jews; love torah laqw breakers and hate those that want to hold on to erets tyisroel, love all goyishe idols of the day but encourage EXPELLING 9,000 JEWS, claim to bleed for ethiopians but hate any observant jew etc. It is time to declare WAR on all of you piggy wicked creatures.

Shmarya, how can you be so hateful towards Jews and the Torah just because you never got married?
    it’s disgusting and very pathetic

  13. Avraham

“So Jews cant pray on the Har Habayit because of fears of violence, yet a bunch of people, parading a lifestyle, MANY RELIGONS in the city find offensive is not an incitement???”

“Using that logic, normal Israelis should be able to prevent haredim from moving into their neighborhoods or holding mass gatherings.”

No Chubby, its using the law to restrict movements of one group under the guise of maintaining public order while allowing free movement to another, despite the same threat to public order. If Jews cant pray and walk on Har Habayit as they please due to “muslim sensitivites” then neither should the sensitivities of the 3 Major Religons residing in the city be offended.

“Oh, and the fact that N.A.M.B.L.A. marches in these parades all the time dosent bother the the anti molestor crusader Rosenberg???”

” don’t think they’re marching in Jerusalem, so this point is moot.”

    Dissapointed arent you?
I don’t think they’re marching in Jerusalem, so this point is moot.

“And,as for Rav Wasserman, he deserves it. Not name calling, etc. But his true stand on Israel and America, and how many Jews were murdered because they followed him – that is important for people to know.”

You think you are the only one who knows anything.??? We know what the Rabbis did or did not do, due to human frailty, just as we know that Ben Gurion and Golda Meyerson and Stephen Wise worked hard to make sure that Jews that did have the smarts to leave, could not get into the United States during the White Paper era and either had to die or go to Israel like it or not.

“I think its past time somebody dug deep into your past and find out the usual secrets that someone shouting as loud as you do, usually are hiding.”

“Wouldn’t that logic apply to you, as well? Someone as homophobic as you”

Or Heterophobic as you? Judeophobic as you?
Your the one who insists on scrutinizing everybody 24/7, so its time that you someone really scrutinizes you and your past and what you were up to before before feigning the whole Baal Tshuva bit.

“Don’t you see how silly your argumets are? Letting gays march is not endorsing – or, more importantly, advocating – homosexuality. All haredi actions ensure is further gay militancy.”

Yea dont upset the militants who seek to go in your face or they might…go in your face.

  14. The Beadle

Declaring a “holy war” against the parade is an incitement to violence if ever there was one. What gives anyone the right to harm someone else if that person has no intention of harming anyone else?

You can disapprove of someone’s actions without getting your knickers in such a twist like some people do.Sure, homosexuality is assur, but so are many other things that people do…we don’t see the same hate filled rabid comments about people who don’t keep Shabbat or Kashrut that we do over homosexuals. Most of the people who get so excited about it are nothing but good old fashioned homophobes and are using the Torah as their excuse for their prejudices.

Secondly, what is so terrible about having to go to Israel instead of dying?

  15. Avraham

“Sure, homosexuality is assur, but so are many other things that people do…we don’t see the same hate filled rabid comments about people who don’t keep Shabbat or Kashrut that we do over homosexuals.”

Hey Beadle, nobody who did not keep shabbat ever drive by me on my walk home with his tzitzit hanging out, wish me a good shabbos and offer me a lift either. Nor did any Jew munching on a ham sandwich ask me if I wanted a bite.

“Most of the people who get so excited about it are nothing but good old fashioned homophobes and are using the Torah as their excuse for their prejudices.”

“HomoPhobes” the favorite overused word of the closet facist to try and stifle any opinion othes may have that doesnt tow the pc line.

“we don’t see the same hate filled rabid comments about people who don’t keep Shabbat or Kashrut that we do over homosexuals”

We also dont see the pork eater pride parade, or the mechalel shabbos pride parade strolling through Jerusalem.

Bottom line, Shmarya is the gay.

  17. The Beadle

So, if there were no parades, you would not get so worked up about homosexuals?

It’s not that I am particularly pro-gay or pro-parade, I just wonder why people get more worked up about this issue than any other.

Monsey man accused of having sex with boys
    By STEVE LIEBERMAN
    THE JOURNAL NEWS

    (Original publication: October 19, 2006)

MONSEY – A 21-year-old man has been charged with having oral sex with two 14-year-old boys inside a car, Ramapo police said yesterday.

A Ramapo officer found Tuvya Rokach in a car with the two boys at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The car was parked at the closed-down Rockland Drive-In on Route 59 in Monsey.

“A Ramapo police officer on patrol observed suspicious activity in the car,” Detective Sgt. John Lynch said.

The two boys live in Monsey and Rokach was staying in the community.

Police charged Rokach with second-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Lynch said Rokach gave arresting officers addresses in Ramapo, Brooklyn and Toronto, Canada.

Rokach also is being investigated by police in Toronto, apparently where he had lived before coming to Monsey, police said.

Police don’t know when Rokach moved to Rockland.

Lynch said detectives also were working with federal immigration officials to determine Rokach’s legal status in the United States.

“We believe he’s a citizen of Canada,” Lynch said. “We’re trying to verify that.”

Rokach was arraigned on the charges yesterday afternoon by Ramapo Justice Rhoda Schoenberger.

She ordered Rokach held in the county jail on $150,000 bail. He has not entered a plea to the charges.

Rokach is scheduled to return to Justice Court on Monday, pending an indictment by a grand jury.

He has not yet entered a plea to the charges.

what is this all about over this hateful blog against judaism observe by jews for thousands of years?

we could find DOZENS of stories of child molestation by non jews, by non observing jews why do you make a fuss and a point of this news item?

and yes, a demonstrastionby people with a common message of an avera is different than people who individually happen to be doing a sin etc.

Obviously, if there would a demonstrration of people legitimizing child molestation people on this blog would rightfully make a protest against these demonstrators…it is legitimate to demonstrate against those who will parade and demonstrate for one of the grave sins of the torah…

  20. Yos

Damn those homosexual Hezballah terrorists, and those bureaucratic lesbians who mishandled the political aspects of the conflict.

  21. Avraham,

So Jews cant pray on the Har Habayit because of fears of violence, yet a bunch of people, parading a lifestyle, MANY RELIGONS in the city find offensive is not an incitement???

Ever hear of Jerusalem day? I don’t hear many Israelis worrying about offending the Palestinians in East Jerusalem by marching through it.

The setllers you decry are not responsible for the HUNDREDS OF LIVES LOST in the war in lebanon

    Neither are the gay marchers.

  22. Joseph

    >>It’s not that I am particularly pro-gay or pro-parade, I just wonder why people get more worked up about this issue than any other.

  23. hashfanatic

The haredim need to shut up once and all on this issue.

    Both here, and there.

  24. The Beadle

    Joseph,

Again, there are many many things which are forbidden by the Torah, but this is pretty much the only one where people get really worked up by it. It does not make sense that this is purely because they are so upset at the fact that they know someone commits an aveira.

So why do they get their knickers in a twist so much over this issue?

Simple, people, whether chareidi or not, have their prejudices. Its a shame to see them using the Torah as a peg on which to hang their prejudices.

  25. Warren

Yes, it is a call for violence. Remember last year’s parade, somebody stabbed three marchers? Remember the posters this summer that had directions (and illustrations) for making weapons to attack the paraders.

No, the entire city of Jerusalem is not the equivalent of the Temple Mount. The parade will not pass thru any Haredi area.

  26. Clear thinker??

We really do need another pinchas!
Gosh g-d has got to come up with some plans to protect morality and please not another flood! Maybe some guided missiles!!
More then any other avairah? Wow we become less wise as the seconds tick by!!
    IT’S NOT MORAL
Just imagine a parade for stealing!! Or murder!! shmarya would be the leader of that one! (As long as they didn’t kill he’s precious ones)

  27. To anyone who is critical of Shmarya’s blog-

Go start your own blogs. Nobody is stopping you.I often disagree with Shmarya, so I started my own blog.

  28. The Beadle

    Clear thinker??

You do you realise you are encouraging people to murder, don’t you?
